Starfish Adventures Inc. is a non-profit organization that was founded in March of 2007. Through counseling, consulting, and life-coaching, we help people of all ages experience life with purpose, the way they were meant to live.
The mission of Starfish Adventures is to establish an inner-certainty of value in everyone, empowering them to navigate life well.
The vision of Starfish Adventures is to provide the tools, experience, and atmosphere needed for people to learn how to live their lives well. To create an environment which empowers each person to identify their true worth and approach life and the events that life brings from a holistic viewpoint. This position enables individuals, families, groups, and organizations to become the very best that they are, in all that they do. The natural result of this process is that people will then have the mindfulness to approach life as a marvelous adventure and each person will begin to function at their peak-performance while thriving in a fulfilled life of purpose. First as individuals, then as families, then groups and finally as a community, we begin living in our actual identities where we are able to respect that everyone is significant. We become pro-social again, and as such, we experience belonging, worth, and certainty while promoting growth, variety, and self-esteem.
Starfish Adventures provides the tools (different modalities), experience (personal, academic, and professional), and atmosphere needed for people to identify their true value/worth. Approaching life and the events that life may bring from a comprehensive standard enables individuals (you), families (people you value), and organizations (school – work – church –etc.) to become the very best that they are, in all that they do. (We can’t always change where we work, live, or study but we may change how we function there.) The result of such methodology is that people begin experiencing life as an impassioned adventure and each person starts to naturally live at their very best while thriving in a fulfilled life of purpose.
Counselor, Consultant and Adventure Guide
Kenneth LeRoy Merritt (Kenny) is the founder of Starfish Adventures. Kenny graduated Suma Cum Laude from Calvary Theological Seminary with a degree in Christian Counseling and Minor in Christian Education. His notable skills as a licensed pastoral counselor, certified temperament therapist, and life consultant have just as much to do with his life experiences as they do with his education. Kenny believes that life is an adventure and that we have been created to enjoy the adventure rather than just endure it. His intention and dedicated actions reflect that belief. One of Kenny’s favorite quotes is, “Be the change you want to see in the world,” and he strives to live that way each day. In 1997, he developed a successful discipleship program for troubled youth and their families. For seven years, he was a Parent Liaison who worked with students, parents, teachers, and administrators for the Manatee County School District. Kenny has been a facilitator and director of professional experiential education programs since 2002. He was the Men’s Ministry leader at The Bridge Church of Palma Sola Bay from 2004 until 2011. Kenny continues to support our community by volunteering his time and services to families, teachers, churches, local programs and organizations. Kenny’s desire is to provide the experience, tools, and atmosphere which will empower the community to transform itself into an affirming, enriched, safe, and supportive environment for everyone…by admin
